More Around the House

My new sign and my motto for now...those are my yummy grapefruits from my yard.

Love this spot...right underneath all of that stuff is where
I sit and blog on my red couch.

My new coffee station inspired by the Farm Chicks...
I need a little more color, but wanted to post anyway.

Thank you God!

God is GOOD! We found out today that we are going to be able to adopt our last 3 kids...their parents' rights were terminated today!

I was able to go and tell Lisa and Vincent in person as soon as I knew...they were very excited...they have been waiting a long time for a forever family.

Anyway, when we got in the car this afternoon, Lisa handed me this precious heart made out of a pipe cleaner and this letter telling the judge "thang you"...then she put all of their new initials on the paper, with their soon to be last name.

Weekend Project

My husband did a cool weekend project...we converted one whole wall into a dry erase board for the kids...they ABSOLUTELY loved drawing on it...my son drew all of these pics of his siblings and I thought it was cute, so I thought I would share!

Real Moms (a friend sent this to me)

Real Mothers don't eat quiche;

They don't have time to make it.

Real Mothers know that their kitchen utensils

Are probably in the sandbox.

Real Mothers often have sticky floors,

Filthy ovens and happy kids.

Real Mothers know that dried play dough

Doesn't come out of carpets.

Real Mothers don't want to know what

The vacuum just sucked up.

Real Mothers sometimes ask 'Why me?'

And get their answer when a little

Voice says, 'Because I love you best.'

Real Mothers know that a child's growth

Is not measured by height or years or grade...

It is marked by the progression of Mommy to Mom to Mother...

The Images of Mother

4 YEARS OF AGE - My Mommy can do anything!

8 YEARS OF AGE - My Mom knows a lot! A whole lot!

12 YEARS OF AGE - My Mother doesn't really know quite everything.

14 YEARS OF AGE - Naturally, Mother doesn't know that, either.

16 YEARS OF AGE - Mother? She's hopelessly old-fashioned.

18 YEARS OF AGE - That old woman? She's way out of date!

25 YEARS OF AGE - Well, she might know a little bit about it!

35 YEARS OF AGE - Before we decide, let's get Mom's opinion.

45 Y EARS OF AGE - Wonder what Mom would have thought about it?

65 YEARS OF AGE - Wish I could talk it over with Mom.

The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears,

the figure she carries, or the way she combs her hair.

The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes,

Because that is the doorway to her heart,

The place where love resides.

The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole,

But true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul.

It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she

Shows, and the beauty of a woman with passing years only grows!

Changin a Few Things

Over the last month or so, I have realized some things about our life. The main thing that I noticed is that our kids are our main priority/focus. They have become pretty much the only thing that we have to talk about.

I am sure that most of that comes from the fact that we became parents to four (five including JB) over night. Our kids have also brought with them a lot of "baggage" that only God can take care of...but, I have spent my time trying to figure it out myself.

Amazingly enough, I have let go of lots of those things and we have seen some true change. God has also spoken to me about...well about me and WHERE have I gone. Jason and I bought a new home a year and a half ago and basically have JUST lived here...which is so NOT like us. The house has an awesome yard, but because I have been SO consumed, my hands have only been in the dirt like 3 times in 18 months.

So, I have begun a change. Jason and I have slowly gotten back to doing some things we enjoy. I have done some rearranging and junk shopping and working in our yard. Jason and I redid several of the flower beds in the backyard. We finished one completely this weekend...looks pretty cute if I do say so myself.

I decided that I would post a couple of my recent decor projects.
This is my new favorite spot...it is my new vanity area that Jason created for me and I decorated...LOVE it!
This a pic of my new junkie bird cage that I put candles in...it looks really cool with all of the lights off!
This is not new, but one of my favorite things...this is a collage of my Maw Maw and Pop Pop...Jason and I got married on their wedding anniversary...I LOVE her VERY much!
The last is of my "french" spot in my bedroom.

Also, I have been wanting an inside dog...so after much hunting...God put Dottie right in our family...she is truly so ugly, she is cute and she fits perfectly! I have a couple of pics of her that I will also include.
